RMS Dirt Works, LLC is a local Montana small business.
We handle septics from planning and permitting to installation and reliable operation. We can also handle your dirt work from clearing ground to digging a basement, trenching lines for utilities, clearing for a driveway or road, and even creating burms for privacy or landscaping. We also haul gravel to improve roads, driveways, patios and even site preparation for building.

Rich Merrill, Owner Operator
In 2017, Rich Merrill saw a need in his own community. Many of his neighbors were trying to build on their property, but they did not have the same equipment used in larger scale commercial operations to grade their site to prepare for building, or install their septic. Rich wanted to make a difference in his own community so he purchased an excavator, a dump truck and a trailer so he could take his equipment wherever it needed to go. Rich started out by helping his neighbors clear building pads, design, grade and gravel driveways and other dirt work while he worked to become certified to plan, install and maintain septic systems. Once Rich added septics to his joblist, he started taking on bigger jobs outside his own neighborhood and around the Gallatin Valley, including Madison, Jefferson, Park and Broadwater Counties. In the off season, Rich enjoys plowing snow on driveways and local roads to help his neighbors get to work safely.
